All Time Western Force Player "ranking"

I've applied a super secret formula made from 11 secret herbs and spices to the numbers collected via POTY voting, and have come up with the following list which ranks all capped (there may be holes in the data) by their importance to the Force since the POTY awards started in their current format in 2008. I *might* be able to pull in some data from 2006 & 2007 and incorporate, but I'll throw this up as is.

I'd be interested in feedback as to players who people may feel are over or under 'ranked'. Or of any that have fallen through the cracks

As usual comparing players from various eras is a problem. In this case trying to be objective when using subjective data adds to that. But still, I would have expected Spanner to be higher up the list. I'd have him easily in my top 10.

Edit: just noticed the rider about 2006-7. That prolly explains Spanner's ranking

I would suggest a boost in rankings for all the boys who played this year. They have been amazing for us and certainly had a strong impact on the club that wont be captured in your metric due to their time being cut short. For the intent of the graphic, those names need a boost I feel.

Otherwise it looks quite fair in the main. Although we could always argue individual cases up or down for ever!

I guess if the graphics artist wanted to get fancy, they could apply an additional effect to 2017 players? Perhaps an effect on 2006 players also?

I need to pull in players from who left before 2008. I just noticed the likes of Hilgendorf are missing ...

Scotty Staniforth was my all time favourite. Despised what John Connelly did with him at the Wallabies but the guy was an absolute machine. Still got my signed Staniforth jumper at home when he was our player of the year!

Was Staniforth's 2006 year included? I see he is on the list

Exciting try-scoring centre Scott Staniforth has won The West Australian/Rosendorff/Rolex Emirates Western Force Player of the Year Award.

The award was formally announced tonight at the Emirates Western Force End of Year function at the Burswood Entertainment Complex in Perth, attended by more than 900 people.

The fast and powerful 28 year old is the first player to win the award, a magnificent Rolex Daytona watch valued at $16,000 kindly provided by Rosendorff jewellers and Rolex.

Staniforth finished on 19 points, ahead of Emirates Western Force captain Nathan Sharpe on 15 points and fellow Wallaby squad member Cameron Shepherd on 10.

I assume you mean 2006 (to match the date of the article you referenced)?

I was looking at that list and thinking it doesn't take into account the number of games played. Could we maybe multiply the score by total number of entries?

ps, I had a crack at a design for the shirt, based upon nothing but a Wikipedia list of players and my own personal impression of importance.

It's far from prefect, but it shows where my head is at. Have a look at the attached PDF

Making stuff fit more than anything.

It's pretty rough, a true word cloud will have words in all four orientations, but I only remembered to do that about half way through when I was running out of space.

Importance as against being any good?

I'm just asking because James O'Connor seems a bit inflated (like his head), compared to a number of others.
