The Brumbies back-up halfback did it for his late mate, Shawn Mackay, by scoring the match-winning try shortly after taking the field.

Try of the round: DIGBY IOANE.
Two great passes including a long one by Quade Cooper to Ioane set up an excellent try that brought Queensland back into the game.

im happy seeing no tahs in that line up, from what i saw they were pretty dismal. And two of the loosies in there as well for the force, good stuff!

I cannot believe that they use the Brumbies forwards Pek Cowan was really good and Luke Burgess was the best 9 of the weekend And what about Pocock

Getting a bit boring, but I guess allowances to be made for the East Coast slant on things.

Bam has been level pegging all year, but the way it's written George has been streets ahead, with daylight second. There's no accounting for taste I guess

Team of the Week - Round Nine:

15 - Mark Gerrard (Brumbies):
He may not always be the most consistent play, but when on song he is simply sublime.

14 - Akona Ndungane (Bulls):
Certainly make a strong statement about wanting his place back in the Springbok team.

13 - Ryan Cross (Western Force):
He is fast becoming the cement of the Force's backline. He is one of the most consistent of the Rugby League converts in Australia.

12 - Wynand Olivier (Bulls):
Another player making a strong statement about getting back into Bok contention.

11 - Jongi Nokwe (Cheetahs):
There may still be some questions about aspects of his play, but as a finisher he is right up there with the best.

10 - Matt Giteau (Western Force):
There is no doubt he is going to leave a huge hole in the Force backline next year.

9 - Fourie du Preez (Bulls):
Showed his true class at the weekend, after a couple of slow weeks before that.

8 - Rodney So'oialo (Hurricanes):
He is a true leader, but often it is his own game that shows the way.

7 - Heinrich Brüssow (Cheetahs):
Yes, we know he plays with No.6 on his shirt, but he is a true openside flank and we used a bit of license here - as in New Zealand and Australia the openside is a No.7.

6 - Adam Thomson (Highlanders):
He is going along swimmingly this year and one of the form loose forward in the competition.

5 - Victor Matfield (Bulls):
Still master class in the line-outs and his allround game is coming along nicely as well.

4 - David de Villiers (Cheetahs):
He was up against two World Cup-winning locks and made them look ordinary.

3 - Clint Newland (Highlanders):
Not only is he one of the most powerful scrummagers, but he gets that huge frame around the field like a loose forward.

2 - David Hall (Highlanders):
Certainly one of the finds of the season.

1 - Jamie McIntosh (Highlanders):
Completes what is without doubt the most impressive front row in the competition.
