Is the match before the trial a closed house gig again?
Gates are open as reported elsewhere here I think.
some of these games are actually away games I think
These are all home games - the away games are later so it could be an interesting watch to see if there is any local talent worth keeping an eye on.

Will be a good (well, only known) way to judge the relative comp standards with the first and last fixtures, particularly the last.

Noob question: what is the difference between Perth Gold and Force A? My understanding Perth gold is from club's player and Force A is those unlucky not starting for force that week and Force academy?
I think that pretty much covers it. Except that most academy players are also club players.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
A sad turn out last evening for the the Perth Gold game - was very good and worth the chilly wind. Tomorrow's Force A game is looking a bit worrying as very few of the non touring Force players are up for it and there are quite a few injuries to the local lads. Rodzilla is playing which is always a blast. Hope more people come down and support some of the young local lads.

Very true - sorry - keep forgetting that not all of are retired old farts like me.

35-14 to the Rebels - Good game played in a great spirit. A couple of handling errors and an intercept cost them dearly.
From the WF Web Site -
Despite the best endeavour of the Perth Gold side, silly errors have cost the West Australian’s in their game against the Rebels Rising, going down 35-14 at Harvey Field on Thursday night.
The WA representative side dominated the play from the outset and showed some good attacking play which saw AJ Smith bag two tries for the home side. The Victorians though had two of their own late in the first half to see the scores locked at 14-all at half time.
Interested onlookers at the picturesque Cottesloe field enjoyed an entertaining opening 40min from both sides.
Rebel Rising came out strong in the second half and attacked the line hard which resulted in an early try to put the Perth Gold squad the back foot. While the West Aussies showed enterprise in their play to create a number of good opportunities they were let down by ball handling mistakes and were unable to generate any significant forward momentum.
The visitors capitalised on the home side’s mistakes and added two more tries to their tally before the final whistle.
Perth Gold Coach Dwayne Nestor said he was pleased with the improvement his side had made from their previous outing just five days before, however acknowledged that the mistakes were costly.
“We certainly showed more intensity tonight and created plenty of opportunities but errors didn’t allow us to make the most of that effort,” said Nestor.
The Emirates Western Force A will play Rebel Rising on Saturday afternoon at UWA Sports Park (McGillivray Oval), kick off at 4.00pm.
