Force's Pocock pushing for players' award

Force's Pocock pushing for players' award

NICK TAYLOR, The West Australian June 30, 2010, 3:04 pm

Western Force and Wallaby flanker David Pocock is the progressive leader in the 2010 John Eales Medal count.
The tally includes the June Tests against Fiji, England and Ireland and last year's five Test Spring Tour against the All Blacks, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The Australian Rugby Union and the Rugby Union Players Association have, for the first time, unveiled the progressive vote in the countdown to October's presentation of the most prestigious individual award in Australian rugby.
The votes are the last to be made public before the awards night. Those from the Tri Nations series that starts next month will remain secret until the winner is announced.
Every member of a Wallabies game-day squad votes after each Test on a 3-2-1 basis.
    The top five:
    DAVID POCOCK 149
    MATT GITEAU 146
    QUADE COOPER 130
    WYCLIFF PALU 113
    WILL GENIA 74
