Injury ends Caleb Brown's Force career

THE Western Force career of winger Caleb Brown is over - before it really even started.
He has been released after tearing a hamstring during training 11 days ago on the clubs UK tour.

Initial reports suggested Brown was only likely to miss the rest of the tour, but the injury was more severe than first diagnosed.

It is a bitter blow for the injury-ravaged Brown, whose run of hamstring problems now sees him back home in Brisbane pondering his rugby future.

Brown joined the Force from Queensland on a two-year deal in June, but it is understood there was an injury `get-out' clause written into the contract that allowed the Force to release him if his injury problems re-surfaced.

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

News is that Western Force are targeting an international player for the wing spot ... but whom ? Habana would be nice in a sky blue jumper or even the England Winger who looked well against the all blacks on a recent tour across the ditch (name unknown)

The Western Force lads on tour will be upset - from Bam Bam's diaries Caleb was one of the characters of the tour.

Sorry Caleb really hope to see you in action again soon.

That's awful Hopefully he'll be able to continue his rugby career soon, just a pity it won't be with the Force.

Hope not, we have plenty of outside backs, not enough grunt in the front row...

    This is really upsetting news!

Caleb was a great bloke and looked so excited about playing for the force on the few occassions I met him and had a chat. Was happy he was starting to feel like part of the team and 'one of the boys'.

Really hope your future is bright and full of success.

Best of luck with it all.

He seemed to be fitting in with the team so well.
Its a huge shame for the team and Caleb, but hopefully they can all savalge something out of this and keep Caleb on the radar for when he is sorted.

Yes, I agree, Man. The Force should become a Convalescence Home for broken down rugby players.
