Was the advanced payment that the ARU was looking for from the WA Government in regards to the Perth Bledisloe Cup test requested to cover Rebel unit trusts and debts? We need to know that.

Just when you think the w**kers couldn't sink any lower!! The arrogance is just making me speechless! This all goes back to us taking legal action to begin With. Clyne even sounded like a spoilt brat bringing it up at the senate enquiry.

This is not about the ARU or rugby but the personal self interest of the board and executive who’s reputations have been toiletted due to their actions and mismanagement. It is vindictive and not in the best interests of Australian rugby. RugbyWA have acted in the best interests of it members and supporters by trying to protect its supporters, players and teams. Give yourself an Upper Cut ARU.

It would appear a very knee jerk reaction to looking like fools (which they are) in the Senate inquiry. It’s complete petulant behaviour, but could indicate they’re feeling worried & trying to deflect the attention they’re getting. And of course the media are pushing this story instead of the Senate interviews! I agree, call their bluff again, WA Rugby claim bankruptcy, give em $1, & sign up in a new entity. These f###kers got away with it, give ‘em a taste of their own medicin.

Give them a dollar and tell them that should cover it

I suspected as much when Clyne made a point of it at the hearing last week that they had not received a cent of costs

I think you have nailed it Val. It's a strategy known as "the Kansas City Shuffle"

I reckon they’re going to chase costs based on the fact that Twiggy said he would bankroll the court action.

Letter drafted, I'll go and get a bank cheque at lunchtime

RE : Payment of Costs to the Australian Rugby Union by RugbyWA

    Dear Cameron

Please find attached a cheque for $1.00 AU. Given the ARU’s previous attitude regarding forgiveness of debt by other Super Rugby franchises, I expect that this will be considered payment in full of all outstanding monies owed to you by RugbyWA in relation to their recent legal action regarding the continuation of the Western Force in the Super Rugby competition.

    Best Regards

Stop feeding them Bakkies. We need you, and everyone else who's ropeable about all this, to put all your energy into keeping rugby in WA strong despite the ERU and all their flunkies, patsies and brickbats.

This is the time for all us sandgropers to pull together for the good of rugby in WA, to cast off the shackles of all those in the eastern states who have tried to wipe us off the face of the continent, and to build something amazing of our own and on our own.

RugbyWA are working very hard to try and map out a plan for the future and I'm sure will be releasing details as soon as they are ready.

Hang tough my fellow sandgropers, our best days are ahead of us!

RugbyWA should demand to see the invoices that make up the $1 million and send them off to the Bar Association for them to be assessed for reasonableness. I think they call it "taxing"? Maybe Fulvio would be able to tell us more

Bill Pulver looked the entire board in the eye, when we met just prior to Arbitration and said " .... gentlemen, if I was in your shoes I'd do exactly what you are doing as you would in my shoes..."

Orders made by a court for costs to be paid by one party to another are usually worded that the liable party pay "costs to be agreed or taxed".

This means that if the parties do not agree on what are reasonable costs, a registrar of the court looks at a breakdown of the costs claimed, and decides what is reasonably and lawfully claimed, and settles the amount accordingly.

I understand we have asked for such a determination.
