I reckon we need McCalman, either Prior or Louwrens (but, both would be good), Stander, Ross Haylett-Petty and Tessman. Brache has been a good utility back to have, so wouldn't mind him re-signing. And I think for the continued development of local players, it would be good to see Holmes getting another contract. Morahan always has potential to do some good things, but isn't consistent, so I'm not sure about him.

There's also an F45 in East Perth (by Wellington Square).

Don't want to see them go, but would not be surprised if Tessman, Stander and Brache left; they can't break into one of the bottom Super Rugby sides (although Tessman is behind Charles, Stander behind Cottrell, Hodgson, Alcock, Koteka and Brache behind Godwin, Rasolea, Cummins, etc). I think all three could still find a Super Rugby contract somewhere, or head north for the cash. Tessman and Brache would be losses, but I think we could cover Stander leaving.

Not re-signing McCalman would be a huge blow. We could possibly work around it by moving Cottrell to 8 and Mafi to 6, but would then be playing guys out of position, and be short of locks.

Cummins may not be back next year, so Lance is a good replacement with more ability to play elsewhere; I don't think he'll be the full-back if DHP's fit, but is a decent replacement. Morahan probably doesn't have an alternative in Super Rugby - Australia isn't short of wingers - so he's either got to re-sign or head north. Dellit may stick around (EPS even) simply because why would he leave Perth? (Unless Angela gets a gig in Sydney or Melbourne, but the Tahs wouldn't take him.)

In Todays paper Lance has indicated he wants the 10 position, if Holmes is going then he may be put there.
If Cummins isn't back I reckon Brache would be starter on the wing.

the front row is good not great. Faulkner is not a THP. we need one.

rory can be moved on and mafi's best position is 6 though he could cover lock at a pinch. We should throw some money at 2 other locks, up and comers like a de jager at the cheetahs. Would love to see someone like Bird running around for us.

Mathewson could go as we have adequate cover with prior (re sign him) and Louwrens there which would open up another marquee spot.

No idea about 10. anybody who is decent would not want to come here. West from the blues. He is a goal kicker as well. Tapaui has looked good early on but not sure about now. brache should be played at 12 and should be re-signed. rasoela can go probably.

Apart from DHP all the other outside backs can go. no idea who we can/should sign. the Badger is big in Japan only now and should not be signed. money should be used at lock flyhalf or centres. probably doesn't matter anyway they don't do much in force colours

I'm guessing if Morahan's great mate Lance has just signed, Mozza will be sticking around and in part lead to the signing.

We wouldn't have put in so much effort to get the rules "flexed" for Alby to stay and then let him go, likewise for Sias.

Benny Mac will be conformed with us very, very soon...mark my words.

Tessman, Prior & Brache to stay and Kane, Ross HP, Ryan & Lacey to be upgraded.

Which will leave us to sign

A prop, Hooker, Lock, Backrower, Fly half and two Outside Backs plus and EPS and WTG.

To target Ihia West would get my stamp, I hoped we would have done that three years ago after his outstanding season with Alby in ITM at Hawkes Bay before he was picked up by the Blues. Biggest issue is he is a Maori and generally gets the 10 jumper for them which is a huge honour and privilege he would have to give up, along with the chance at an AB jumper.

Yes, Luke is good for us and happy for him to sign on again, still young.

Yes, not sure why negativity around Alby on this site this year, he has been awesome for us so far and I am ecstatic to have that kind of experience and mongrel around our young backline players to learn and breed off.

Sias is the best available to us and can be used to alternate with Jono as seems to be the indication.

Yes, Benny Mac is more important than any further wins this year, this is a crucial one.

Happy with the next lot mentioned, Tessman getting better with age, Prior good, Brache full of enthusiasm, young crop the rest
