I must admit to being a little surprised.

I had thought that the ARU's preferred engagement strategy for supporting the Western Australian Rugby Community was "go away Western Australia".

That's part of the 5 year plan we are still in the two year execution phase. Apt name that execution.

I'd be very surprised to see another test match in Perth. After the Bled, that's it

So the ARU's preferred engagement strategy will be that I and the war office continue to attend the Bledisloe tests in Sydney each year (or wherever in 2018, 2019 etc), continue to attend whatever tests the Wallabies might play in Perth each year and purchase two 2018 Platinum tickets to say the Brumbies and then fly to Canberra each weekend when the Brumbies are playing at home? Assuming 8 home games for the Brumbies in 2018, the total cost of that would be
    • 2 x Platinum Brumbies memberships (@$400 each) - $800
    • 16 return airfares to Canberra (8 x 2 x $575) - $9,200
    • 16 nights accommodation for 2 adults, single room (@$200 per night) - $3,200
    • Incidentals for 8 return trips Perth-Canberra (@$100 per trip) - $800
    • TOTAL - $14,000

That works out at $875 per seat per game.
And be bloody thankful for the opportunity

I do hope the bit about Dave is not true. I know he has to think of his family and future but selfishly I don't want him to go to the Rebels

Can someone please record john eales squirming at the lunch?
I'd like to know why we were the only team told to sign an alliance when all others had no strings bailouts. Especially if aru's dire finances were already known.

A paywall but essentially they are saying that:
Rona is looking at the Eels or they are looking at him

Tats is pissed and will go overseas as he still qualifies due to the giteau rule

Adam Coleman, brothers Dane and Ross Haylett-Petty, Richard Hardwick and Jono Lance are going to the Melbourne Rebels with coach Dave Wessels.
Bill Meakes is rumoured to join NSW Waratahs.

So if true I feel for Bill condolences mate you pulled the short straw.

Also what about the rest of our front row as in Ainsley, Sham and Pek. As well as our Halves Ruru and Louwrens. Locks in Philip and Arnold and the dynamic backrow Isi.

Well, the Pandaram article tries to state about Wessels and the players "they're ARU employees, they'll go where their told to". Not entirely true. They still have the option of having the contracts paid out then going wherever they want.

Note how the only ones being picked up are either in, or close to the Wallaby frame?

Jermaine, Sham, Pekka, Mick and Ryan, Matt Richie and Isi are essentially surplus to needs and will be shown the door with a little hush money on the way out.
