Significant maybe but Queensland has over 15 times the number of players that WA has so it is disengenuous to claim that they are equal stakeholders. A case could be made that the decision making at ARU level should just be completely independent and not state-based but that's not what you're arguing.

Can the ARU give us the money used to top up the Hunt deal so we can have equal revenue.. Wallabies should be paid match payments only and camp allowances and all other income is given via super 15 clubs and NRC clubs this would stop all the crap and put all super 15 franchises equal.. this being paid wallaby top up and not even being selected is crap.. I would like to know how many players are on top up contracts that are not even wearing green and gold.

ARU has not changed from JoN days and I think the ARU paid Sanzar for a win this yr

Haven't we (do we still?) missed out on federal funding due to the biased (however justified) voting structure of the ARU.

As I alluded to it's more to do with the lack of an independent board rather than allocating votes to member unions. Give all the states equal voting and the same problem is still there.

I agree totally with your thoughts on the ridiculous dogs breakfast that is the ARU top up situation. But as to the player himself;Hunt will quickly justify his signing. He is a very creative ball player who played 10 and 12 for Biarritz at Heineken Cup level after only about a 10 games in Top 14. He will play one of those two for the Wallabies. Next year. Wait and see.

Yes they did, did he get any money from the ARU in his first season?

Was he touted as the next big thing for the Wallabies before playing his first game?

Did he work his arse off and get into the national team the right way?

(was he lured away by the Tahs shortly thereafter?)

    Yes he did.

Coach Eddie Jones, who had sought the one-time Queensland Origin player as a goal-kicking winger, conceded the ARU's stance would "make it all but impossible" to snare Schifcofske."You never say never, but it would make it very difficult," he said. "We'll just keep trying."

Earlier, Jones hinted at ARU favouritism after fellow Super 14 club Western Force last week signed Roosters centre Ryan Cross to a contract which was topped up by the ARU.

"When the Force signed Ryan Cross that was a decided step from the ARU to help the Force get stronger," he told AAP. "I think it's the ARU's responsibility to help the provinces to field strong sides. The stronger we are the better it is for Australian rugby."

Probably not given Stirling Mortlock was playing 13 at the time.

First game for NSW in 2011 around about the time we saw an exodus of players from the Force.
