Western Force V Waratahs Saturday 15th July 5.45pm

Hi Can somebody inform us who the officals will be next Saturday night.. I am hoping we get a Kiwi or South African as if its Rohan Hoffman he should order an ambulance now.. I am sure he will wear a few very fowl comments during the game..

A game this big and against the ARU pets we are entitled to a fair contest...

Tahs are below us on the ladder after their defeat by the Jaguares. If we win next week we could be 2nd in the Aussie conference. The ARU wouldn't want that,we are bound to get Hoffman!

We are sure to get Hoffman, the ARU won't want us winning this one with Reds due for a hiding...

I'm predicting Hoffman, with Houston and Murphy and Mitchelmore as the TMO.

THE Western Force will walk off nib Stadium in Perth on Saturday night after their match against NSW unsure if it will be the final game in their 12-year history.

But there will be no farewell laps by the team, no formal goodbyes.

This is a club that expects to survive after their arbitration hearing with the ARU next month, so will instead play to honour their retiring captain Matt Hodgson.

“Our focus this week will be on Hodgo, he has been the life and soul of this club,” Force coach Dave Wessels said.

“The players’ focus will be on delivering a performance that makes him proud.

“It will be quite an emotional week for the club, there’s not many players who got to exit stage left on their own terms and Hodgo deserves it.

“My challenge will be to keep those emotions in check so we can actually get a performance up.”

In April, the Force and Melbourne Rebels were revealed as the teams the ARU has in its sights to axe from Super Rugby in order to scale the tournament back from 18 teams to 15.

The Western Force could be playing their last game when they face the Waratahs on Saturday night.
But legal blundering by the ARU has seen both franchises take action or threaten it in a bid to survive.

Unlike South Africa, who rather smoothly announced that the Cheetahs and Southern Kings would exit the tournament last Friday, the Force and Rebels remain in limbo.

With Rebels private owner Andrew Cox declaring twice that he will not sell back his licence, the ARU must find legal ground to cut the Force.

“The advice I’ve been given is that our legal position is strong,” Wessels said.

“When we survive this, we’ll look back at this period and take strength from it.”

In a ridiculous situation, neither the Force nor Rebels will discover their fate until the season is finished, when players are on holidays, meaning fans won’t get the chance to bid the club farewell at their grounds this weekend.
