David North was among the small group of Welshmen to make the trip to France, but he was rewarded when his son scored the winning try just 10 metres away from his seat.
As Wales celebrated, North Snr jumped over the barriers to join his son on the pitch. He was quickly escorted away by stewards, but after explaining his identity he was allowed to return to his seat.
North said: "He (David) was in that corner in a big group of Welsh fans. He just lost his head in the excitement. To be honest, I can’t understand why running on to the pitch was the first thing that came into his head!" he added after the 16-6 win.
"My back was turned and I was jogging back to the halfway line for the kick-off. I was oblivious to it. A couple of the boys were saying, 'Is that your old man?' And everyone was like, 'No, it can’t be'."
David, who tries to attend every match his son plays, told the Mail: "It was a freezing night and we were sat in that corner, right in front of where George caught the ball. I was just so happy and overwhelmed watching him score.
"It was such an important game for the team and I know first hand how hard they have been working to get that victory. Before I knew it, I was on the pitch.
"Thinking back, I know it was a silly thing to do but I just got caught up in the excitement of it all."
Former Wales centre Tom Shanklin said: "It just shows that George’s dad is a mad fan like all Welsh fans, really."
What a dick. He's no different to the dads that threaten refs for penalising their little precious child.
Maybe if they shot a pitch evader ( like Argentina) once in a while there would be no problem!
May the FORCE be with you!
Can't agree with you there SNOB. His intentions where completely OK. I'd commend the officials for making an exception for a justifiably proud Dad. Well done. There's aleays room for a little discretion.

Nothing wrong with the old man waiting until post game to congratulate his son and if it were some other idiot he would be slapped with fines and be booted out.
One rule for all or is it still amateur hour

Come on Shasta. You can't just let people invade every time their kid gets a try.
Imagine how many security guards would lose their jobs in Perth alone! They wouldn't be needed!
But to be serious it is not a rugby thing! over here we still have a lot of mungo influence who seem still think that's the thing to do. But it's not expected in Europe unless you have a great pair of knockers!
See Erica At Twickers
May the FORCE be with you!
Doesn't matter how famous you are - your parents will still find a way to embarrass you...
No harm, no foul. Stop being so precious. Well done to the officials
coz Stone Cold says so
You just gotta love the passion and no one got axe murdered.A few of you lads need to lighten up
he should have belted the ref. referees are fair game
Onya Piet, smack the ref for having the audacity to award your team the winning try.
True to your usual form!
