In contrast, take a look at the sheer delight on Pek's face at being part of the community work in Fiji this week.

What a great ambassador for the sport of Rugby and for our country.

Yep. The senate inquiry might also be interested in the lack of support for the players (and staff) in the sacking. I think that might contravene Australian law, as I got support when I got canned and my company never provided a thing more than legally required.

You think Twiggy doesn't already have a 5 year plan?

COnsidering what he's done to build FMG,I would think that's all sorted very nicely thank you. I would also think that he has contingencies built into the planning for various circumstances
    Force Readmitted to SR
ARU Goes belly up and needs a comp in short order
    NZ starts to want in
3 Years to build to cater for the death of SR
Senate inquiry causes genuine change and we can start to push the boundaries
Too many Asian nations want in
No Asian nations that put their hand up has enough player depth
    Too many sponsors
    Not enough sponsors

    and the list continues
Only the ARU think business decisions are sound without backup plans.

Peks comments just highlight the ineptitude of the Un-Australian Rugby Union and RUPA. And this is supposed to be a professional sporting body? The whole organisation needs to go and take some professional development courses.

Players retiring and having to deal with life after their sporting careers is totally different to have your team just closed down and then the players welfare ignored...actually I'm wrong..the Force were ignored by the Un-ARU for a long time before they were shut down.

The fact that Matt Hodgson who is a qualified councillor, had to do the bulk of the support work to get the Force playing group through the uncertainty is damning on the Un-ARU and RUPA.

What a bloody indictment on the clowns supposedly running the game. A sham and a shame!!

"I HAVE NO VALUE TO AN EMPLOYER"

Pek ... let's think about this one given many employers would look at personality over qualifications and experience ...

You have proven loyalty to colleagues and management
You have proven tenacity to train hard, work hard, seek out work to complete, take on new tasks
You have proven collaboration skills in working with people, resolving conflict, taking leadership roles and leading teams
You have proven recognition in representative honours, recognition of your hard work and performance levels
You have travelled the world and experienced other cultures through your work
You have been respected by your colleagues and have respected them for their efforts

You have so much more than an awful lot of people I have worked with over the last 12 years.
You have value as a person, a colleague, a gentleman

Quite surprising to hear Pek hasn't been studying or training in anything else to be ready for life after rugby.
I thought the Force was pretty big on that??

Was thinking the same. The ARU has acted disgracefully in this.I'd guess Pek is feeling pretty down in writing that piece. But on reflection he might want to edit a lot of the personal stuff and put the case for fringe players. Most of us wrestle with that stuff all our lives. Doubt a bloke with 13 years as a pro player to set himself up, who has sold a home and had to move into his investment property will garner the sympathy vote from Joe Public.

Sorry Shasta but that is bullshit in a hand bag. The guy wrote an eloquent piece about a topic that is still raw to him and lots of other players and supporters. My heart goes out to him. He gets it. I hope you guys know that I get it. Shasta you seem to think that Joe Public would think less for his lot in life because he got to work 13 years as a pro player and got to set himself up and got to move into his investment property - SFW? The post is not about that - and if you don't get what its about, then that, my friend, is BIAH.
