it was a good chin strike, apart from possible jaw damage they tend to be less damaging in the concussion stakes.. he might have a week off if anything
Ruck Involvements - Force v Lions
Remember:
1. Early means 1st or 2nd of player’s team AFTER the ball carrier has been tackled and brought to ground.
2. Impact means active engagement: strong physical contact, changed shape of ruck, clean-out, protecting ball etc. (more than hand on someone’s bum or arriving after the hard work has been done). Yes it’s subjective - but as I collect all data at least it’s consistent.
3. Impact DOES NOT equate to Effectiveness. I’ve concluded that coming up with an effectiveness measure is just too hard in the time that I have available – but open to suggestions.
Thought I'd get these up quickly but little time for additional comments.
- Force had 48% Possession & Territory so very much in the game (as we know).
- Both teams won 93% of their own rucks.
- Force stood off 43% of Defensive Rucks and had 4 Turn Overs Won (Hodgo, TPN, Prior, Rona).
- Force had 27 Missed Tackles and 28 Handling Errors (Lions 20MT & 34 HE). (SR Av HEs about 15)
- Force conceded 15 Penalties to Lions only 9.
- Best Tacklers: RHP 17; Hodgo 16; Carmichael, Naisarani & Rona 11; Cowan 10.
- Best Ruck Involvements by Backs: Rona & Meaks as above; Verity-Amm - 13T - 11A/2D; Newsome - 12T - 10A/2D
- Always impressed by Hodgo's Ruck Involvements in the closing stages.

While playing tough rugby, I thought some of our decisions were anything but smart.
Take the last 90 seconds of the 1st half. We are 14-6 down and win a penalty ~35m out and ~15m from the sideline. Prior kicks a penalty (14-9) and there is time to kick-off, with a well-contested kick. Fortunately we win the ball and as time expires Prior puts in a box kick, giving the Lions the ball and a chance to attack. Fortunately we win a turnover and get the ball out, but not before the Lions blew an overlap.
What we should have done with 90 seconds left was kick for the corner and go for a driving maul. The half-time score could have been 14-13. As it was, we could easily have ended the half 21-9.

Did anyone else notice that Adrian Barich had a box in the eastern stand? In the past he's given us some good air time, didn't know he came to the game though
Forgot about the cross-kick at the end.
