He was Man of the Match
Wonder what Sharpie thinks about all this?
the punters friend..... stick with me and you will be wearing
Wonder what Rex thinks about all this?
I remember all this bullshit about signing yes signing no with JOC last season..... RWA have no clue whats happening....Pocock will go for sure, but he is a gentleman and will delay his dicision until end of S15 and wont let his mates down. Pocock will head to Rebels next season as Captain.
I agree that Pocock is a gentleman, with more integrity in his little toe than RG and JOC combined!! I really think he will stay with the Force, at least for another season. He is well settled here and his wife is a WA girl. He just doesn't strike me as the stinking rat type. Nor does he appear to be remotely interested in the "glitz, glamour and bright lights" of the ostblock states or the selfless pursuit of the almighty $.
That's my girl's take on it anyway!!![]()
Lets hope so, although there will come a point in his career where he will want to start winning trophies and when that becomes abundantly clear it's not going to happen with the Force he will go walkabout. I think if we can recruit well for 2013 then we have a chance of retaining him.
A little birdy told me yesterday that not only will the players be having a "discussion" about RG at training this morning, but the board has actually put RG's future the hands of a player vote
Also interesting that Spanner is at training this morning, wonder if The Mayor will be dropping by of the next few weeks as well, could the Western Force Retired Players form the interim coaching panel, with Phil and Nick???

Your little bird has a pretty good strike rate.
I imagine Spanner is there as one of the two player reps on the Rugby WA Board. He and Sharpie will likely report the thoughts of the board and provide cool heads in a possibly heated discussion. I'm not a fan of players having too much say in the day-to-day running of a team. But where a coach allows such a decision to be made mid season it's fair enough. I'll be happy with whatever decision they come to.

I am surprised that Rex and none of his alterego's have piped up with their 7 cents worth of comments lol
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
Normally I'd agree with your sentiments re players having too much say, but this is certainly a special case, especially the way in which his resignation has been handled. If that has caused a loss of respect amongst the player group, then it's exactly the right thing to do.......sometimes generating shared ownership of the outcome outweighs 'sit down, shut up and do your job'
It will do nobody any favors if the board make a decision without reference to the feelings of the staff about the matter.

shasta and GIGS20, you are both right...and wrong.
Players should not ordinarily have a say in the running of the club, but this is a special case. Shared ownership also outweighs "STFU". In fact as a side issue we seem to have been clamoring for the players to display a bit of shared ownership by the way they play. In this you are both correct.
The real issue is that the board have not handled this at all well. They should have required RG to clear his desk, hand in keys and passwords, not contact the players, and have him escorted from the premises immediately. This is what happens in every other workplace environment, having a dead man(ager) walking does no one any good, and most often leads to disarray and sometimes shenanigans.
Once again they have displayed the same lack of determination and nous that has put this club repeatedly in the same position. The only instance where they have played hardball is with Judas, and they only did it at the final hurdle with his comeback of ridiculous petulant demands. By the time this happened the ongoing "negotiations" had completely destabilized the team and dismayed the supporters, and player performances and crowd morale suffered.
When Mitchell left they took the easy option of appointing RG to the main coach role instead of doing a proper search application and interview process. All that cr@p about quokkagate and the fights was also handled with less than aplomb. Players should have been summarily sacked. The dissent in the ranks with Mitchell, and him being placed on some kind of personality watch was pathetic. They should have either sacked him or supported him to the hilt and sacked the ringleaders (probably Gits from his previous and subsequent interactions with various coaches).
Any board members that were involved with these incidents and others I can't recall needs to be swept from office, it has been a complete shambles.
It is a good way to galvanise the team behind a decision and take responsibility for their future.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
