It appears there'll be a few "dry" spots left, depending on the number they come down to...

We got lumbered with seats in block W15 (I think) at the MES pre-season - they were excrutiatingly sh!t seats and a waste of money.

If we get offered Gold membership seats in something like W15 again, even at a discount, then we'll probably pass. Loyalty to the Western Force is one thing - wasting good money is quite another.

Rugby WA will come out ahead at MES if it retains a significant majority of its current corporate hospitality clients and most of its Diamond/Gold/Silver membership. The real trick will be in how Rugby WA manages to provide seating for the corporate hospitality crowd which it holds on to, and at the same time makes an equitable distribution of the remaining seats to its existing Diamond, Gold, Silver, Nickel and Iron members - and that's ignoring anyone who may want to come back into membership as a result of the move to MES.
Corporate interests will consume all the 'Grandstand' (for want of a better word), the seats directly below and prime seats (for want of another better word) in the Eastern stand. The remainder of the seats are likely to be poor. My subi seats were block 104 (despite faxing my membership the minute it opened!) so methinks that at ME I'll either be well towards one of the goals on the East Side, or up in the poor 2nd tier a bit more central, or offered in one of the West blocks at either end of the Grandstand.
I just hope they reduce prices until a decent ground is built, else methinks many will leave if disatisfied with their seats.

Having also sat in block 104 for a couple of seasons and watched the Spirit and trial games at MES, I'd rather be at MES any time. I've walked round MES during some games and the only complaints I'd make about the viewing is that the raking of the seats could be greater. But I'd much rather be low down and closer to the pitch than high up and need binoculars to see play on the opposite side of the pitch.

My other complaints with MES would be:
    1) No roof - not worried about getting wet, but MES is too open and the sound disapates. Noticed this during the Crusaders trial game last year - full stadium but seemed quiet.
    2) The seats aren't designed for people who used to play rugby but have now retired but kept the same calorie intake. Rugby fans can be big guys and the seats aren't designed for them (admittedly, Subi was also bad, but block 104 had bench seats!)
    3) Lack of facilities - both bars and loos.

I doubt anything will happen about 2, but they might keep the noise in more by filling the corners when they upgrade the capacity (and facilities!) All-in-all, I'm far happier with MES than Subi.

I noticed the acoustic deficencies at MES also - the big roars go straight over the top of the seating and into the local residents houses.

However, the players can still hear everything you say (or yell as the case may be) Isn't that right, Robyn ?

I remember that game, when Latho was playing his last season for the Reds, organising the attack in preparation for a quick lineout throw with his mouthguard still in he said gmrf pwah blun gasb bwubbba amargh blibbidy schnoo.

I repeated the call in case they didn't understand him.......he wasn't impressed!

Pretty poor spelling for a teacher. "bwubba" only has two b's.
