Dry boat Westie, we wait until we get back to shore.
Anyone know what happened to the u/23 10 aside comp that RWA have ran for the past few seasons at the end of finals rugby. Players really enjoyed it and there seemed to be big numbers involved. They were on to a bloody good thing and then nothing. Why.
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
Well I've just been to my very first League match having never even seen a NRL match before and only went because Westie Boy nagged me to go and it pains me to say this but it absolutely pissed all over the Argies V Wallabies match a few weeks ago.
The pre match was very well done with fireworks and live band on a wheel out stage which I hadn't seen before only added to the atmosphere.
A meaningful curtain raiser match between the best of the local talent available before hand set the scene, throw in things like having a voting poll for the half time music and you have a recipe for enjoyment and makes you want to go back again.
The ARU can't just expect the punters to show up for a test match without spending a few dollars and providing decent entertainment, they need to get their shit together because if diehard union men like myself are talking league up then they have a big problem.

Jeez, from Wests to Kala to League--is this a downward spiral?![]()
Great evening, great atmosphere, great night out and great rugby seeing the best in the sport plying their trade.
It was incredible being in a sell out crowd at NIB thank goodness we have a rectangle stadium in Perth.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
ARU needs to get some professionals in to work on game promotion. Even watching the League Test on television you could sense the excitement at NIB stadium.
Union fans are far to conservative. Boring game though.
anyone going to watch today's game at JB's?
Well said Westie. I too was at both games with the lad and it pains me to say last night shat all over the Wallabies game. Was talking to a few of the NRL officials as well and State Of Origin in 2 yrs time is not the only big games they have announced. It also amazed me how many local kiwis can suddenly turn up when the NZ teams are here. Would be nice if they could maybe turn out in a bigger capacity when the other non NZ teams are playing. It would certainly make the crowd look better on the box.
you can't watch rugby and not drink. It's unaustralian!
And a sunday baked dinner!
