He had surgery on his knee/lower leg the day before the jersey launch and unless he has done something else then I'd say its probably still bandaged up from that maybe...although that was quite a while ago so maybe not.

i think spanners sprained his ankle in training.... heard someone mention it.

and DHP would prob be pushed down the list. he's prob the rookiest + not the best. after all, he played most of his school boy rugby at fullback, not wing.

I think DHP and Cummins will be lucky to make the 22 next year, both have talent but they are both young and inexperienced.

Agreed but at the same time they aren't getting to become anymore experienced if they aren't part of the 22...what a catch-22!

well it certainly helped DHP last year. But if we were (touch wood) able to go injury free they probably won't get a crack in the 22

2 weeks left of the New Zealand Cup - couple of players not signed up yet
(they blooded 90 rookies in the NPC as there have been 100+ Kiwis playing outside NZ now) - we might get a Kiwi or two yet !

As the" yellow scarf" has pointed out,if Playford & Stanford sign this would bring the squad to 33.We are still looking for a THP
if this is the case,who is going?

If they do end up expanding Super 14 with more rounds they'll probably need more players to handle the injuries front. So there is no reason why we couldn't keep everyone.

Is the number of eligible players fixed in stone? A couple of the younger lads like DHP would still be senior apprentices as well...are they counted the same way?

yes it is set in stone, its part of the RUPA / ARU agreement

maybe DHP will go into the acadamey instead? he is still able to play when we need him and we dont drop of our current players, and i think academy trains with the force as well, so he would still be like a part of the team as he was last year.
