i'd like a comment on the millitary limitations that would have.... if any?

The life of a barrel at 3,000 feet per second is 18 seconds.
Based on a 22 inch barrel, the projectile is in the barrel for 1/1500 of a second.
This relates to approximately 22,000 rounds.
So, in terms of military implications Happy, they probably change them every couple of months when in constant use however (and I'm sure our military men will clear this up) I doubt that there would be much call for that number of shots to be shot by most servicemen in the field during a swing.
It equates to about eighteen hours constant firing at a shot every three seconds, your barrel would melt and shoulder give way before you achieved that!

We always carried a spare 50 cal barrell for the machinegun and can remember changing them occassionally, but the time frame alludes me at the moment.(ps, no smart arse comments from the peanut gallery please)

ohhhhhhh ... so your one of the evil 4x4 drivers ... who sit up high in their little .... ah .. big cars squishing little cars like mine aside ...I get scared of 4x4s
speacially when youre givingway ... like your meant to do at a give way sign and then a huge 4x4 get right up your butt and starts honking at you flapping his arms about ... and then you go ... when its safe mind you and he is still right up your butt ... so you slow down so he can overtake you but he goes even further into the abyss ... so then you decide to go the speed limit and then he finally decides to overtake you ... the he turns of to the left and gets stuck waiting to turn and then you drive past him flapping his arms about at you ... so you just wave at him ... all the while your little 13 yo sister is sitting in car freaking out!!!
lol jedi ... but still if you have 500 bottle of wine in the car im sure you wouldnt suffer road rage !!! besides the roads are hell out there ... I can get three cartons of stubbies in my boot four safely in the back seat and maybe one in the front ... and one single stubie securly in my hand ... two when I have a drinking problem
