1 A cash injection occured into the local economy.

2 By reason of that cash injection no less than four local credit contracts were paid out in full.

3 This released by a factor of four the amount of credit available in the local economy. (Remember, each trader was prepared to allow credit equal to the initial cash injection.)

4 By accessing this suddenly available credit locals have a means of paying for additional local goods and services.

5 A demand for such local goods and services is thereby created, kick starting the economy again, creating employment and spreading wealth.

6 Money is in circulation again, buying time for entrepreneurs to develop fresh markets in what is otherwise a stagnate economy and giving them the seed capital to do so.

The example Burgs gives above, multiplied a million or more times, is why the stimulus package has kept Australia ahead of all the OECD countries in terms of avoiding the effects of recession in the Global Financial crisis, and why it is the most signicant decision made by the Federal Government todate in its first term.
Apart from the fact that once the note was back on the counter it was profit for the hotel proprietor, who had a balanced budget (with 100 bucks of credit and 100 of debt) He got 100 in the door, Paid his debt, was in the black with a reasonable expectation of the working girl paying her bill. The tourist stole the 100 off the Hotelier!

A loyal foot soldier of communist KRUDD.
KRUDDS "stimulus" was no more than a sugar fix
After everybody spent their handout on plasma TV's and pissed it against the wall, there was no further benefit.
If however, said billions had been spent on infrastructure programs like hospitals and schools, there would have been enough people employed from fiscal spending to pay back the debt.
However, as KRUDDS second term in office will draw to an end circa 2013, Australia will have a spiralling national debt and inflation will be a runaway steam train. The resulting high interest will kill off businesses and unemployment will also be steepling. It's a great time to buy growth assets that will increase in value with inflation. The inflation tsunami is on the horizon thanks to the atrocious handling of the economy. The RBA has staved off recession despite the idiots in Canberra

As history has proved time and time again, the coalition will inherit a country in fiscal chaos after the bogans will re elect KRUDD on the back of their $900 payout and decimation of IR law.

Communist KRUDD will of course be moving on to his next passion of milking the public purse. He is using this mere distraction of prime minister to feather his nest by investing $30,000,000 of tax payers hard earned coin to get himself elected to the position of secretary general of the UN. Another great opportunity for communist KRUDD to milk the public purse. Has there been a bigger opportunistic p1ss taker since federation?

Do the country a favour and vote the pr1ck out at the next election. Give the country a chance

Turnbull has been a very successful person in his own life. Success is very unpopular to the Australian left. The vast majority of the masses have an IQ less than 100. They prefer a socialist promising to pay them to sit on their lazy arse who will be totally ignorant to his feathering his own nest and helping himself to tax payers money. KRUDD preaches fiscal conservatism on one hand blaming capitalism for the ills of the world yet on the other hand spends money in vast quantities quicker than a virgins first sexual experience. The problem with KRUDDs spending is that it is merely vote buying with no consideration for the consequences of the enormous debts he has racked up from international borrowing.

    Fuel watch.........big white elephant
    Grocery watch.........big white elephant
Where is the education revolution we were promised?.......big white elephant
Roads, schools, hospitals.........foresaken for a X-mas consumer splurge with billions of dollars borrowed from China.

A lot of countries in the world would have stormed into the streets burning photos of the smarmy pr1ck
Now we have a massive national budget deficit 18 months after they inherited Australia's biggest ever surplus. KRUDD is like a lotto winner that spends all his money on frivilous things and applies for the dole a year later because he's as poor as a church mouse. Absolutely no foresight or economic comprehension. KRUDD is vote buying with no vision beyond his 3 year term. History will judge this government as the worst since the great depression. The country is a RUDDerless ship
Unemployment and inflation is set to surge, thanks to extremely poor economic management.
