But I do remember quite a few on this forum saying "Ryan who?" or "Another bloody useless Mungo" when I was singing his praises in 2006. I said he should be the first player targeted to shore up the back line injury list. Because I knew his background and had watched him at the Roosters for years. Tahu and Tuqiri are at least his equal. The selectors know this. Time will prove that too.
Fair call Shasta. I was judging by Super14 performance or lack there of. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Wallabies jersey but from what has been said about Robbie will selecting team based on this years' Super14 performance, I cant see how he can be selected based on that.
Crossy was a good League player who didn't get the recognition he deserved. Great pick up by the Force, and i'm glad to call him one of ours instead of seeing him run out in that Roosters jersey![]()
What? You can go on about drooling over players yet we can't say about something which could add some more substance to the game spectacle, the presence of cheerleaders? Feel free to try out if you so wish, I'm sure they'll be holding open auditions so you can drool over players all game even closer then you normally would do...
I think Cross deserves his spot in the wallabies. And with Tahu, i think he might be worth a look. I feel he has a lot of potential to be a great union player in the future. But at the moment, he hasnt done anything to warrant a selection ahead of guys like Cross, Shepherd, Turner, Mitchell, Carter, etc. Maybe if he has a stunning next 3 games, then i might have to rethink that. But currently, based on his form, its unfair to all the other players who have put in a good super 14 season but fail to gain selection just because he's an overhyped league convert. Maybe give him a go in the Australia A, but nothing higher. I'd rather see Mitchell and Tuquiri on the wings, and Mortlock or Cross in the centres before i see Tahu even making the bench.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
First player picked this year would be Matt Giteau, no doubt about it. there is a reason why he's the highest paid and best rugby player in Australia.
Disagree Gotheforce - Sharpie has been achieving to - as for Wartah Jesus lets see if he shows up Monday
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
having watched tahu, cross, wendell, tuqiri and rogers all play league and union, i have to say tuqiri has been the best convert by far. crossy is going very well too. wendell looked good going forward but was useless at the other aspects of playing wing ( postitional play, kicking, defensive patterns ) rogers never quite found a regular position unless utility back counts. as for tahu, he is a very gifted league player but three games of union on the wing just isn't enough for wallaby selection. he was tahgeted in those three games and his lack of knowledge of union defensive play and positioning makes him an obvious tahget for teams to exploit at international level. i wouldn't have a problem with him being a train-on type squad member though for his own development.
did anyone watch sports tonight where they said that the tahs halfback, not valentine, is the best bet for Australia's next best #9? any agree or disagree with this?
