He played the last 6 minutes, nothing special, but did not disgrace himself under pretty intense pressure for those last few minutes.

ONE Direction star Niall Horan might think twice before starting a Twitter fight after he found himself in a heated exchange with Wales rugby player Mike Phillips.

A member of the world’s biggest boy band, Horan called Phillips a “right arrogant idiot” after the halfback was involved in a number of niggling incidents in his side’s 26-3 Six Nations loss at Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Phillips responded by inviting “Big Boy” Horan and his “Beatles” mates along to training for a face-to-face meeting.

Horan politely declined Phillips’s invitation, tweeting he would only go and watch “good rugby teams”.

Phillips is among the best halfbacks in the world and was a key part of the Lions’ 2-1 series victory over the Wallabies last year.

Always a feisty competitor, the 31-year-old was eventually yellow-carded three minutes from full-time after he ran in to join a scuffle following Ireland’s second try.

And although Ireland and Wales won’t meet for another 12 months their 2015 Six Nations encounter is set to be a spiteful one after Ireland fullback Rob Kearney – a Lions teammate of Phillips in 2013 – joined the Twitter exchange in support of Horan.
