The only way to develop the players of the future in WA is to start at club level RUGBYWA should be more involved at the U18 & U20 level.
All Coaches should come together under the guidance of the Force coaching staff. Some guidelines should be laid down and a 5 year development plan must be put in place. The Force coaching staff should set some basic "guidelines" of coaching so that all these players can work towards the same goals. There should be of season development clinics run by Force coaching staff for club players. RUGBYWA can even hold "pay for" coaching clinics where you have players pay a fee to be able to attend.

This is not a new idea The Blue Bulls under Heyneke Meyer started doing this a long time ago and it works well.

Agree, I'd much rather have a local academy than having 10 foreign players for sure, otherwise I can't see much point in the Force continuing

Pity we couldn't get BHP, BGC,BankWest,Emirites,Gina R. and the like to chip in and let us use say $2.5 mill. of the money they make out of W.A. for 5 years. Not a gift, just the use thereof.Astute investing could return maybe 8-9%.Income minus expenditure would equal minimal tax.If there was an excess, reinvest, creating a nestegg,so when we went back cap-in-hand in 5years we wouldn't be asking for as much.Like I say-PITY,but it doesn't hurt to dream.

Forceguys comments ring true, although I cannot see the 'faceless feckers' at RUWA taking any notice of us the fans and supporters of rugby in this state.
That would make them redundant and they would lose the 'box' priveledges and 'kudos' they so richly deserve

After this years abismal showing you have to wonder if there is any point in them being employed.
If RWA was a plc share holders would, justifiably, be calling for their heads.

This has been a massive issue with the lack of local academy for the past year. Four youngsters were allowed to train full time with the Force pre-season but for no compensation. When you consider that these kids have to train 6 times a week and thus cannot hold down a job or study full time then it becomes a tough ask... however they did do it. Some of this talent is now playing in Sydney and some have even had a crack at Super Rugby or the Aussie 20s... but not here.

Without a funded academy RWA will always pull in no names from the east at the expense of local talent - I cant work it out but then again not a lot makes sense at the Force currently or at the ARU level. Time for a large broom and fresh blood.
