Hey guys, need a favour.
My parents are in Perth at the moment and are looking for a quiet pub/club to have a sit down, maybe eat some food and watch the Brumbies/Waratahs game (don't worry, dad's a Brumbies fan, so the lesser of two evils I guess).
They don't want to go anywhere that's smokey or where you have to stand up to watch the game (I.E. The Vic), so anyone got any ideas? Thank you.
Burswood Casino is OK. No smoke. Big screens. Food, drink. Sound will depend on whether it clashes with an AFL telecast. Possibly find the same problems at a lot of the pubs too.
5:40pm on a Sunday before a Monday public holiday - I think Casino may the the best bet - everywhere else will probably be rather busy ....
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Thanks for that fellas. Just got off the phone with my mum and looks like they'll be hitting the casino.
I love the Champions Bar
It rocks!
Ahh well Mum and dad watched the game at the casino. Mum called right after the game and I asked her if dad was crying, she said he wasn't but I don't believe her. Three years in a row now...
But right now I need sleep, I'm very drunk and my throat is sore from chanting "Waratahs" in response to a Brumbies chant tonight and just general cheering and yelling.
Night gang.
How'd the reconstituted 'tahs supporters group go?
btw - how did the casino go for them as a venue to watch the game? see if you can't get 25 words out of them for a pub review ...
As well as it could when it involved NSWRU bureaucracy, but I'm not going to bore you with that. When I get more time to suss the details out with NSWRU and find a sponser, it'll be on.
I'll chat to mum and dad about it, I'm not sure if the sound was on or anything like that but I'll find out what the experience was.
No sound?!?! I guess they were in WA watching a NSW/ACT game, but c'mon - i'f you are gonna show the video, you gotta show the sound! Bad casino bad!
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
I have no idea if the sound was on, I'm not sure how many different sports were on, but an out of state rugby game... I'm just glad they had it on the telly so dad could watch bragging rights go my way for another year.. or at least until the semis.
the sound would have been on really quietly ... I know they havent got sound in the international room ... I was trying to watch the pool tornament ... but I couldnt hear... but its okay they made up for it with free alcohol and club sandwiches
BTW do your folks come back with a profit
hehehe they should give you at least 50% of any profit

Hmm, you know I don't think my folks are the gambling type, I've never seen them do that sort of thing anyway. But true they should share it with me.
The sound is always on on one of the big screens in the Champions Bar. But sometimes you might get an AFL match clashing with Rugby, Rugby League or English Premier League. They show all the matches but only have the sound LOUD on one of them.
i should head over there one day then hehehe damn AFL! with their evil sound!!!! oh well as long as they dont have sound on the soccer im happy .... silly girls sport pfft!
