Can anyone out there suggest what I can do to have the signatures on my car by Honeybadger and Hodgo protected from the sun? I had a clear protective film put over Sharpie's and it still faded quite badly so I arranged to have it airbrushed. Anyone who has seen Hodgo's signature will know this wouldn't be an option or for Honey Badgers.
It hasn't mattered until now because I drove to work in the dark, parked in an undercover car park, and drove home in the dark!!![]()
I had a body protection pack included when I bought my FJ Cruiser last year. I can give you the details and you can contact them.
Outside of that I don't have much of an idea.
Thanks Jargan.. The signatures are actually on a vinyl wrap on my bonnet. I will inquire if the protection pack works on that .. Very valuable these signaturesHave to protect them
In case I have to sell my car.. heaven forbid !!!!!!!!
Took me a bit to remember the name of the company

I presume the signatures were done with a black felt tip pen.The lightfastness of this dye on the blue wool scale(of 0 to 8-where 0 will fade very quickly and 8 will not fade for years)would be about 2.
It is the UV in the sun's rays that causes colours to fade. There may be clear coatings available which contain UV inhibitors, that can be applied over the signatures--however these will only be delaying the inevitable

Can you get some sort of clear vinyl wrap to go over the vinyl wrap logo?
Did you go to Bokay to get the original? Bokay would be where I'd start my enquiries - they do a bunch of this type of signs for the likes of Wilson Security, Coca Cola Truck and car fleet, Mrs Macs, Bankwest, Chubb Security, so I'd imagine they have the technology to assist. Might even be able to reproduce the 'signatures' (they're autographs, love) onto something that would last longer.
