"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa

No surprise but still don't think we should bag him. Considering the difficultes he faced during his tenure I think he has done some great things for the players. As with most stories there is more to it than we are being made aware of.
Just happy to be here
Next we'll all be shocked when the Lions call a press conference....
I hope he does well in his future. I'm happy to say he was our inaugral coach.
Here endeth the speculation and uncertainty. Thanks and good luck, JM. Go RG!

But it's still 20 mins to go. Might they call a press conference to say "JM is staying on"?

Certainly no surprise, though definitely a level of disappointment.
It has dropped him slightly in my eyes, but that is starting from a very high base level I might add.
Mitch has had to put up with incredible levels of bullshit on many fronts while doggedly building the Force from scratch, far more than most coaches would come across.
Perhaps he shares responsibility for some of that however, he had to work through it nonetheless.
In his tenure there has been no shortage of off field and off season drama and a player group that is probably over estimated by many of the loyal punters and a poor injury rate. 71 players in 65 matches pays testament to that! However, in the same time he has played a part in producing at least ten Wallabies with more still to come in the next couple of years.
I believe he has laid a fantastic platform for Richard Graham to work from in continuing the story of the Western Force.
Thanks for everything Mitch, you will always be part of fabric of Rugby in WA![]()

All the best for the future mitch, and thanks for all youve done for rugby in the west, and for australian rugby as a whole in previous years...........

Question: Did Rugby WA have to pay the magic million to buy out his contract?
Good on him, he did a great job building our current core squad, and brought up the likes of Pocock, JOC and Browne into super14 and wallaby level. He did his bit for us and Australian rugby, and we couldn't ask more of him to go out during the middle of the off season to keep the impact on the squad and club minimal.
