Just a brief thread for those of you who are interested in regional rugby...
The John I Dent Cup is the ACT Districts Rugby Comp... There are a few names of interest up and coming as well as S14 but note Patricio Noriega playing with his son Steve as hooker in the Frontrow for Uni-Norths...(His son Steve is also in the Brumbies academy squad)... I just thought that’s great.... Additionally Noriega will be scrum coach/specialist for the Wallabies this year...and he is still giving it a go on the weekends, not bad for an old guy... mind you he is still pretty fit...

Match of the Round:
Uni-Norths v Tuggeranong at ANU North, Turner
Uni-Norths will be searching for their first home win of the season when they host Tuggeranong in their match of the round at ANU North.
The students fell to Wests 46-27 in their first home match last week and will face a Tuggeranong side full of attacking ability.
The Owls’ cause will be assisted with the return of promising young loosehead prop Steve Noriega while CA Brumbies winger Clyde Rathbone makes his first appearance in the Tooheys New John I Dent Cup for Uni-Norths at outside centre.
The Vikings enter their fourth match of the season as the competition’s most potent attacking side, having scored 163 points – 59 more than the nearest contenders, Queanbeyan.
An embarrassment of riches sees the Vikings swap one CA Brumby with another, with Julian Salvi replacing Huia Edmonds at blindside flanker. The Vikings backline remains untouched from the one that helped post 72 points against Easts last weekend.

Royals v Gungahlin at Phillip Oval, Phillip
The Royals juggernaut continues to roll on as they posted their third consecutive bonus point win over Queanbeyan last weekend.
However, the win was not without a nervous moment or two and the Phillip-based club only just managed to edge out the Whites, 38-35.
Royals have made two changes to their forward pack with Larry Stevens making the unusual transition from lock to hooker, allowing Richard Taumoepea to force his way into the starting XV. The backline remains unchanged.
Gungahlin will be seeking a win against the side that knocked them out of the 2008 Tooheys New John I Dent Cup minor semi final.
The Eagles – who return from the bye – have named the same forward pack from their win over Queanbeyan a fortnight ago.
Tevita Halaifonua returns to the red-and-black’s backline at outside centre while spectators should watch the progress of winger Kurt Mulcahy, who beat former 100-metre record holder Asafa Powell over 400 metres earlier this year.
Royals: 1. Jay Cash, 2. Larry Stevenson, 3. Eugene Mulipola, 4. Richard Taumoepea, 5. Kerian Greialish, 6. Sokai Tai, 7. Joe Kolokihakaufisi, 8. Sitaleki Timani, 9. Tim Ferrari, 10. Craig McMahon, 11. Junior Lafaele, 12. Tim Cornforth, 13. AJ Abel, 14. Jason Swain, 15. Henry Stowers

Easts v Wests at Griffith Oval, Griffith
Easts will be out to stem the flow of points against them with a strong display against Wests at Griffith Oval.
The tri-colours have named an unchanged lineup to the one that went down to Tuggeranong 72-7 last round.
Having convincingly defeated Uni-Norths 46-27 last weekend, Wests will be out to continue their winning run.
Their campaign has been boosted with CA Brumbies lock/back rower Peter Kimlin taking advantage of his temporary release from Wallabies duties to play club football and will run on in the Lions’ second row.
The other changes in the Wests lineup sees blindside flanker Aaron McInnes return to the side with Jarrett Budworth shifting to No.8.
Easts: 1. John Sheridan, 2. Reza Almasi, 3. Sean Casey, 4. Tom McGregor, 5. Mauri Kerseone, 6. Ben Selwyn, 7. Isaac Chadwick, 8. Byron O’Dell, 9. Phil Coulter, 10. Jon Burgess, 11. Nathan Elwood, 12. Jimmy Crompton, 13. John Duggan, 14. Nate Lowers, 15. Andrew Fletcher
