This rant is done without the prior research of Google, Wikipedia or even Wikileaks.
It is purely based on my memories.
But FFS if the Wallabies are to be successful, we need to select less NSW Waratahs!!
The Wallabies had to originally play in the poofy powder puff blue. And even today we are haunted by the selection of too many Tah's because they have this believe that they are born to rule.
Australian Rugby was never really strong from inception right up to the ill fated 2nd Wallabies that arrived in England the day WW2 was declared. At least by that stage the side was starting to show some strengths and that side had I think 5 Victorians including 1 by the name of Edward Dunlop.
Post WW2 the Wallabies was again dominated by NSW players right into the 60's when NSW refused to play Qld in a state series.
But as Queensland gained ascendancy in the 70's and leading up to the Qld demolition of NSW 48-10 did the memories of Australian losses to Rugby powerhouses such as Tonga seem to fade.
But when the ARU board dominated by NSW votes put Dwyer in charge of the Wallabies and he selected the Ella brothers over the vastly experienced Paul McLean and Roger Gould did the Wallabies lose to....Scotland in 1982.
So feel free to challenge me on historical facts, but I still think.
Too many TAHS.
