Now, correct me if i wrong but i believe the game i watched on friday night was rugby not afl. so why is there the siren going off at halftime and fulltime? it gives the team defending the advatage, they know all they have to do is 'kill' the ball and the games over. And i think in future games it might kill us. Anyone else think like this?
play to the ref and his wistle not a timed siren
Never played the game or watched it at a lower level, so I wouldn't have a clue if it was normal to have a hooter at the end of 40 minutes or not?
I'll leave it up to the gurus!
It's not normal to have a siren at the end of 40 and 80? The ref is the only one who can call the end anyway, regardless of when the hooter sounds.
I know what you mean but on the other hand I think it adds a nice Perth uniqueness to it all...
they had a hooter at Suncorp for the Red match...
yer but the hooter dosnt mean stop now
exactly...the referee is the sole judge of fact
you'd find that there is a siren at the end of 40 and 80 at a lot of stadiums, the players one the field know when time is up because there is a clock (derr) and they can ask the ref at any time. I see no problem with having a siren, it lets everyone know.
geez Goldmember.....it took almost 14 hours for that one to come up

The Members a bit slow these days![]()
I'm with you Pruc. Hate the fact that it is an AFL siren.
Also could not hear any announcements
Even without the siren you cant hear the announcements...the sound system is absolute crap.....I'd love to hear the interviews and video clips that Force do prior to the game. Yoy can hear the ground host sort of OK but once it goes to the video clips and video interviews it just sounds so distorted...its a pity because someone has obviously put some time and effort into it.
SUGGESTION TO RUGBY WA - Put those video clips up on the web site so we can see...hear them properly. Thanks..
