JUST when you thought James O’Connor might be maturing the Queensland Reds target has backflipped his way back into the spotlight at French glamour club Toulon.
O’Connor, who is expected to sign with the Reds for next year’s Super Rugby season, recently arrived in Toulon to prepare for the upcoming Top 14 season where he will play alongside the likes of Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell and Mathieu Bastareaud until the end of December.
And it looks as though the former Melbourne Rebels and Western Force utility is already enjoying life in the south of France - if the above video is anything to go by anyway.
In an off-field display that may have Reds management rethinking their recruitment strategy, O’Connor dons a pair of budgie smugglers and performs a backflip to promote a party.
It’s not the first time O’Connor has been snapped enjoying a splash either. The 44-Test Wallaby was a member of the “Bungy Bros” gang who enjoyed an afternoon spa frolic in Melbourne in 2012.

I bet the Reds would be delighted to see their latest recruit almost knocking himself out in lap pool in France!
Nothing has changed by the look!

I thought the only back-flipping Red was Genia.
I have to agree with Zim here.
Was he drunk? No, was he out at ridiculous hours in the lead up to a massive game? No was he sleeping in and missing an important team event? No
Is this particular piece some sort of witch hunt to justify vehement anger directed towards him when he does return to Oz? I'll let you decide, but I can't help but wonder how different it'd look if he was headed towards NSW.
