What a monster crowd on the Gold Coast. "Better than Hong Kong" huh?![]()
There must have been at least four hundred people there!
Making 25 000 for the two days which isn't a bad starting point. Hong Kong gets 120 000 over three days though so my point still stands.
Getting 25000 in the first year is an impressive result because there was absolutely zero maketing and advertising undertaken. It was quite unbelieveable. People onthe Gold Coast and Brisbane were unaware it was even on. Only the rusted on tragics turned up.
They need to lift their game with marketing next year. A modest amount would see this event easily sell out. Also JO'N was overheard to say that Sat/Sun will be a better timeframe next year.
All up, this event has a massive future on the Gold Coast.
To put it in perspective, Adelaide's highest crowd was only 31000 after five years and with substantial effort in marketing the event.
