- Strong mail that the NSW Rugby Union, which after four years of strong profits this week recorded a $295,000 operating loss for 2008, were sniffing around Matt Giteau and were working on a swap deal involving two up-and-coming future Wallabies from the same Sydney club. The players heard about this deal and fronted a high-profile Waratahs official to voice their complaints. The wiggling official quickly backed down and suddenly Giteau was off the Waratahs' agenda.
