    Home Game Crowds 2008

Just for the record, we were losing about 3000 people per home game until Saturday when the numbers finally went up instead of down.

    Crusaders 27,011

    Stormers 24,225 (down 2,786)

    Bulls 21,161 (down 3,064)

    Waratahs 22,287 (up 1,126)

    Chiefs 21, 549 (down 738)

Let's hope the boys have a big win against the Reds, everyone gets a break for ANZAC long weekend and we get a huge crowd for the the Chiefs on 3 May! West Coast play at Subi on Friday and Dockers in Melbourne on Sunday so there are no clashes with AFL like this week.

We still did well for signatures though, I collected about 85 pages this week!

We're sitting at about 6-6 1/2 thousand now!

The guy outside gate 10 said that we had over 23000 when we were leaving on Sat night.

Also I thought that the Bulls game was high 22000's

I heard from my brother the other night that he is considering not renewing his membership (with missus) as the crowd (in his particular area) are getting too bogan and swearing and carrrying on like bogans. Watching a game on Foxtel is becoming more attractive. Shame that. Has anyone else noticed a down turn in crowd behaviour?

If they complain to rugbywa - with seat numbers of the people - then rugbywa will check them out with others seating close and their membership will get cancelled - where we are is great - any idea of the block number

Probably, I know he enjoys going and watching the Force so it would be a shame to stop because of yobs.

I think there are plenty more vocal supporters out there than before..whether this is boganesque, I don't know.

In my section, there is one particularly vocal member who's increasingly become frustrated with the Force play from the past 3-odd home games, and been screaming "This is rubbish!" at the top of his lungs and at worst, "This is f@#!ing rubbish!".

I've also noticed myself being highly vocal especially this past game with particular focus on the ref. Normally I'm your average quiet kind of guy who loves to watch his rugby in moderate peace but sometimes the passion for the Force overrides the "rational" switch. Now I'm not sure what carrying on like a bogan means--the missus has tried to explain but all I know is that they drive particular cars and don't wear shoes-- and wonder whether this reference to the crowd being bogan-like is really a reference to me.

I recall years ago, attending a match at the Stoop (Home of The London Harlequin). There was a parochial crowd of about 13k (which was close to full house), and I particularly remember being amazed by the tranquility and polite ness of the crowd even though Quins on the day played like crap and were soundly thrashed.

I also recall more recently (2003 to be specific) attending a Waratah's home game at the SFS and going through pretty much the same sort of subdued experience as I had previously at The Stoop.

Personally--coming from a rugby culture where there is plenty of singing, crowd sledging, hurling of various abuse, basically where anything goes except violence--I'm not too sure myself what the proper Australian rugby etiquette is.

I'd agree with Kenya....Block 101 is vocal for sure (at least Row K seat 1 is) but there is rarely more than a 'bloody wanker' shouted out. I remember the Bulls game, I was giving the ref a serve for most of the game, and one bulls fan walked out, saying something I didn't hear properly as he walked past, but I hadn't sworn (to my recollection) so I thought what I did was OK.....I don't think supporting your team vocally is bogan behaviour....if they consider it to be, then they probably shouldn't renew their membership, if they are OK with it, there are a couple of doubles in 101 which seem to be available!

I think mindless swearing and excessive drinking is the issue

If by bogan you mean a lack of snobby wankers, then yes. I'd prefer it to the eastern types anyday.
