    Attention Bundy drinkers

I know there are plenty out there who don't like Bundy and that's fine, just save your one liners for a different thread.
For those who do like Bundy, what's the go with the new Bundy Red?
Saw it on the shelves and bars of Perth when I was down, apparently a smoother blend or some such?
Of those who do drink rum, what is your take in this new one, improvement or imposter?

    hmm I was right...

New Bundaberg RED. Extra Smooth Rum. Filtered using Australian Red Gum.
Bundaberg RED was born from a challenge to create a smoother style of rum, while still retaining the unique Bundy character. Using the ingenuity that Aussies are famous for, our distilling team have created an incredibly smooth rum, using a unique filtration process which delivers an incredibly smooth taste. Now, filtration is not something new, however the idea of using a unique Red Gum filter is.
Bundaberg RED goes through a similar double distillation and aging process as our signature Bundy UP. This helps to create the unique character famous all over this country. What happens next is the key. Bundaberg RED goes through 3 separate filtration processes which create an incredibly smooth profile.
Firstly there is chill filtration, which removes most of the impurities.Next, we have an activated carbon filter - which helps to create some of the smoothness. Finally, the rum is sent through the unique Red Gum filter. This three stage process removes some of the stronger flavour compounds which exist in the regular Bundaberg UP, and allows some of the more subtle flavours to shine through. The result? An incredibly smooth, easier drinking Rum.
Available in 700ml bottles (37% ABV), and premixed with cola in cans & stubbies (4.8% ABV).

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

interesting change but nothing to write home about, as FT pointed out bundy has a taste of its own and it seamed to me the extra filtering has eliminated that taste, while its still bundy IMHO its not the full taste i love about OP. this is just my opinion but mabey it could go better with dry as ive never been a big fan of "Cola" premix cans (OP Excluded).

My father in-law is a Bundy king, and he has informed me that the Red Bundy isn't necessarily smoother. He told me it is good but it might be for the discerning taste buds out there (some people like Dr Pepper and a lot fo people don't!!). If you like eucalyptus you will probably like Red Bundy. Guess it comes down to the individual. Haven't tasted any yet still got to get through my bottle of OP first!!

I bought a bottle of Bundi red to try and I enjoyed it....it's got a bit of a vanilla flavour to it. My mate tasted it and he said the same thing, some vanilla after taste.

Is that mixing or straight up TD?

Normally go the dry myself, unless in rural circumstances when choices are generally coke or straight, coolish if you are lucky....
