Deans set to swing the axe

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2...01/2352441.htm

Coach Robbie Deans has warned changes could be made to his team following the Wallabies' record 53-8 Tri-Nations shellacking at the hands of South Africa.

The Springboks ran in eight tries to one in Johannesburg to inflict upon Australia its largest defeat in terms of margin.

However the Wallabies still remain in contention to win both the Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup and will do so if they beat New Zealand in Brisbane on Saturday week.

Deans said upon returning to Australia with the team this afternoon that he is still confident the Wallabies can turn things around.

"People will judge us as they wish," he said.

"We've put ourselves in a position to turn it into something meaningful, regardless of how people judge us.

"We certainly don't want to finish with a performance like the last and there's no reason why we should."

Wallabies captain Stirling Mortlock said the Wallabies were simply outplayed by a determined outfit on Saturday.

"No matter what we tried to do they just kept on coming at us and I guess they were desperate and they had nothing to lose," he said.

"They grew in confidence as the game went on and we just found it very tough."

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

And for GOD SAKE bring back SHARPIE!!!!! Cross and Mitchell both made an impact when they came on. Forget some of the experiments and go back to true blue... I don't know why we keep putting Ashley Adam Cooper ahead of some of the Force guys...

i wonder what his team will look like

the front row was bashed something shocking by the boks.. maybe bring baxter back ? steven moore is a given start i think, TPN was shocking. mind you, moore wasnt too great himself. sharpe and horwill should be back as the locks, i doubt waugh will stay, but i hope to see our origional loosies back. burgess will hopefully be fit and i would doubt very very much if gits moved. lote is fighting for his place, barnes will hopefully be fit and im sure mortlock will be there, wonder if crossy should be though. hynes is also in a bit of trouble and i dont know why aac is there, really. drew, crossy and sharpe should all be out there and i dont know if brown should make his debut for such a bit test...

    should be interesting!!!

yeah wld love to see Freier back in the mix.
Berrick Barnes is still injured i think.
Stiling Mortlock to move into 12, and cross at 13. Drew at fullback. Sharpe in for Hugh. Smith in for Waugh and Pocock in for Waugh on the bench.

Isn't the game in Hong Kong part of the Bledisloe this year?
Wouldn't that mean winning next week doesn't win us the Bledisloe?

give aac the boot for a start and bet drew back there til sheps is fit again for a start.
next give the front rowers some htfu pills or find some freshies to try out (i think there was a half decent front row for sale on trademe last year at the end of the world cup)
