Ok, hands up who thought it was Gilligan.
What's that Skipper.....yes, I was one of those!
Number 13 is interesting, depending on how you read it!!
I thought in and out was pretty much how it went.
Shows how old I am I guess.
Clockwork Orange?
Apparently a new ground record at NiB tonight.
And that's a worry! If there's more support and better finance for league we will be the poor cousin and probably lose a lot of walk ins who just come to the Force as its rugby and not AFL. We of course know what the ARU will do if they need to speed a cent in the west!
Frankly that is on the Force though, not the ARU. We averaged over 27,000 for the first two years, then it started to rapidly taper. They told themselves it was because of the ground, even got in behind and talked it down, but we moved some years ago and they haven't come back. Maybe need to look at a bigger picture...
The NRL game is once a year, it's easy to fill out the stadium. At the game I wondered how many of these would turn out as full time supporters of a west NRL team. Realistically I thought they would follow the same level of support as the force did over the years. I.e start high and taper off. There were a lot of kiwis in that crowd and you know that a lot of them only turn out for a game from NZ.
Yup, all the Kiwis were there to see Sunny Bull.
Whilst NRL games are once off's at the moment it's a matter of when not if in regards to a permanent NRL side here in Perthand GIGS is right, everyone loves a winner. The NRL is cashed up given they get $190 million per year at the moment compared with the ARU's $40 million and also with the next TV deal being negotiated and the lure of later live time slots with games being played 2 hours behind the east coast.
There would have to be some concern at RugbyWA HQ at 4 sub 10k crowds this season. It appears people are voting with their feet in terms of the sides performance.
