Alan Jones..... I never thought i'd say it, but - I think you are right.
One of the better interviews i've heard in quite sometime....
To quote the almighty TLH - "When you're right, you're right"!
I think they are all out of their depth - players, coaches, admin, you name it.
Hmmm
Players out of their depth?
Are they not simply following a game plan coached into them? Does that not reflect on the way they are coached rather than the player's ability?
What would be interesting is the response/rebuttal to this interview by someone important in the :wallabies: group. (no - not rabbit...) Sadly we shall never hear that happen.
I always thought he was a cantankerous old bastard too, but, he really does make some good points about what it takes to make a team!
please Ralto - enlighten me on all the points he made that you consider irrelevant
Gross failure in individual skills and poor individual fitness are player responsibilities at this level. They are representing their country - they should be at peak performance.
The game plan - or lack thereof - is the coaches responsibility. As are the selections (to a certain extent).
The games admin isn't (or doesn't appear to be) asking the hard questions of either the players or the coaching staff.
Hence, they are all out of their depth.
