God I hope they find some signed document from the ARU guaranteeing the Force for 20 years!!
Given the smack in the face which the ARU has delivered to the WA taxpayer, to the WA rugby community, to the WA Government and to McGowan personally (so much for his efforts in appealing directly to Clyne and to the ARU), I am most surprised that the WA Government has seen fit to continue to financially support the 2019 Bledisloe match in Perth.
I would have thought that the Victorian Government would have picked up the 2019 Bledisloe as part of the survival package for the Rebels.
If even a fraction of the present rage against the ARU and the Wallabies is maintained by then, then we could be in for the mother of all "Boycott the Bledisloe" campaigns.
Time to write to our local MP and get a question in the house about it.
"Fuck the Bledisloe"
I imagine there is a contract. If WA can get a refund on the deposit and the Vic's pick up the deal that will be good. But there's a part of me that would like to see a 60000 seat stadium with only a few thousand AB fans.
Would look like a RL match at ANZ :S.
The way it is going all of the other tests will look like that no matter where they are.
Rumours that the Sydney test is not selling well in the papers.
I think the Perth Bledisloe will be in front of at least 40,000 All Black supporters
Okay, maybe 36,000 All Black fans then. :sarcastic:
