SAVAGE job cuts and a cash shortfall have spun the Queensland Rugby Union into a stressful corner, triggered by the Reds’ slide to non-events in Super Rugby.
Up to eight QRU staff, some in the marketing and commercial area, were made redundant last week to slash costs.
Sources indicate that the QRU is also yet to pay off hefty six-figure sums to several major creditors because of a short-term cashflow issue, although payment plans have been organised.

So another takeover on the horizon. Everything is falling in place for Mr Pulver. Everybody was saying Jim Carmichael's early departure was not suspicious and everything was in good order. I think maybe not

They would have known their finances were heading south at the start of the season. Hasn't stopped them signing Goromanu and Houston and bringing Cooper back from Toulon early. Guess back office problems only effect the team running out on the paddock at the force, not rebels or reds, call me cynical.
