Fantastic article - well written , Wayne.
Just heard on the radio that they're holding a press conference later today and expecting Cannon to announce his retirement. Hope it's not true but I'd hate to see him get injured again. Would prefer him to walk away now than that.
Press Conference in about 20 minutes...
Has announced retirement - anyone know where details of press conference will appear?
Bye Bye Brenno!!!
Just announced on Fox Sports News - no pictures or statements yet
so someone did find it. Thanks
I called another rugby writer a "wordsmith" sarcastically the other day and was slightly misinterpreted by some.Quote:

And I hope Canno takes that quoted piece of advice from John Mitchell too.
Awesome piece of writing, and very moving...Thanks Canno, thanks for the memories and enjoy being able to retire with the missus and kids knowing you are still healthy, albeit a bit stiff and sore...
Gulp! That sums it ALL up. I'll lift one tonight for Canno, and pray that he can step straight into passing on all his (considerable) nouse to Tai and Luke.
To form Tai and Luke into a world-beating first and second hooker combination would be the appropriate legacy to a warhorse of Brendan's stature.
It'd also require somebody to step up with the patter from the front row. Like constantly reminding the ref that Herman Hunt is only a club player, give him a break. Classic Canno.
Cannon was one of our best sledgers for long time. As Marto once said about him and his continuouss banter and why the ref rarely pinged him, "it's what he said, it's how he said it!
