Sad if true - but good luck to him.
If it is true that Dave is going, we need to put keeping Joe Barakat and Shaun Berne in perth on the high priority list.
If they leave fine, but Melbourne, how much more can one franchise get!
Since day 1 they have been the darling child.
I don't understand why he would be going-the opportunity that Twiggy is building should be a fantastic chance to be running a whole new comp/team. In addition, how could he want anything to do with that slimy snake Clarke? If Twiggy can somehow get Wallaby eligibility for the players as well, it would prove a big draw card.
Well if it is designed to be a replacement for the NRC it is a big step down.
I don't like this talk of it being complementary and other teams joining later, it still strips us of all our players & coaches and the other franchises can just saunter in when Super Rugby fails with 3 + years of extra top level rugby under their belt.
I don't see what is in it for us.
Let's not get too concerned until we see the details. That Telegraph article is authored by Jamie Pandaram, I don't think I need to say more.
It was The West last night as posted on our site It's probably where he got his story from as he won't be getting to many leaks from his mates any more will he
This is such deja vu.
Wessels is negotiating with a number of clubs and has yet to make a firm decision, but his potential defection to the Rebels would be followed by a host of Force stars including Adam Coleman and Dane Haylett-Petty.

Pandaface's key source for all information on Rugby is Rob Clarke.
Remember the man that successfully negotiated a completely blank chequebook for the Rebels, The same man who is now, on the payroll of the Rebels, the man who (apparently) had absolutely no conflict of interest at all.
If you ask him, God, Jesus and Jonah Lomu will be lining up for Melbourne next year, because the tosser's simply delusional.
Lets look at this from the players point of view.
I have to feed my family now.
The new competition is nothing but paper and dreams made of pipes
i need to keep my skills up as my service life is very short
These guys NEED contracts now, and especially for the wallabies players they currently need to be playing Super Rugby. Once the comp is up and running, and there is money to pay them, then they can start to filter back in. until that time alll these boys need to go and py their trade in what ever market is available.
good luck to them all, and thanks for sticking around as long as they have.
not necessarily Super Rugby, just Rugby in some part of the world.
Just not Melbourne please!!
We will reconcile that they have to go somewhere but while there is no news of them going elsewhere I'm clinging to unhealthy hope they aren't. The first news of them gone makes it even more real we have no team😳
