Its looking to me, more and more likely that it will run in conjunction with Super Rugby rather than after it.. too many other nations have their domestic leagues later in the year. Also it will be cooler and drier in the tropics... I cant imagine how uncomfortable it could be playing in October in Singapore..
Damn, missed it..
Just finished the Spirit game delayed :( Can't fault the HUGE effort from our boys but I think our handling errors cost us in the end.
Agree, Valentini was impressive with ball in hand - big unit, but I'd like to see some AndrewG like stats to compare him to Koteka, who to me has a great all round game and keeps improving.
I hope the IPRC runs during Super Rugby, gives me some rugby to watch during that time of year...:sarcastic:
Reaction from Pek following the game.

Well done to both teams, that was a real physical game and was a thriller to watch. To our spirit boys, you did us proud and showed the true WA fighting spirit even with a man down in the last 10 minutes. Defensive effort was enormous especially from Isi Naisarani.
A really lovely writeup from the Canberra Times

I am sure that there will be space for Pek somewhere in the IPRC - I like to think he has a good couple of seasons left in him but if not, I am sure he would be a great technical advisor/coach to some of the less developed unions that have been talked about.
/agree, a considered write up from someone who seems to recognise what has been done to professional rugby in WA and its impact on our players. Damn sad for those boys who don't have a club to go to. Also a powerful quote from Isi, that the Western Force will always have a place in his heart.
I'm not ashamed to say I was a little teary - and they're not even my team - they're the competition - but without a competition you've got nothing
All is not lost though. There is no reason why WA can't organise games with visiting teams next year. Even if we play them all at McGillivray Oval, or the athletics ground next to headquarters; we can trial-run some of the Asian sides, bring over some Japanese clubs, get the champion Teikyo University to come play our locals, get some SA teams on their way though for practice matches; something can be done to give us a formidable rep season next year. Plus, we have the bonus of not having to worry about scheduling around the Wallabies. Any plans, John and Hansie?
We have to try and stop the FURU forcing us into bankruptcy over the $1million they want in legal costs before we can look at anything like that!!
offer them a dollar-nothing more
