The bloke playing left center has been good. Interestingly he seems to have only played RL for Hills District Bulls and Lebanon but Wiki has him listed with Panasonic Wild Knights.

Glad I watched that nearly opted for some chores. I wouldn't take anything from the Lebs. Tonga weren't at their best but didn't play badly and not a lot of errors. Lebs just played out of their skin. Fittler gave them a great game plan and they executed it bloody well.
Game was there to win for Lebanon at the end - Tonga have some work to do during the week.
Fiji looking like the real deal so far - they were very impressive in the pool games but had a very easy draw.
They should be a couple of tries to the good but can't finish. Is Hayne playing? Did you take the $5.75. I did.
No but perhaps I should have.
were they playing at Carlaw park in the mud?---4-2 ffs
Tonga last week Morgan double yesterday Fiji today my Sportsbet a/c is as fat as an Imperium unit trust. Oh yeah make that a Rat's Arse expense a/c.
meanwhile at subi oval-looks like there are at least 2 men and their dogs there
Been a great week of "other codes" for me. Had fun at the RL last week, got wear my old Chanticleers jersey out in public and saw the Tongans beat the Kiwis; the Socceroos got through to Russia but the Italians didn't; then I thoroughly enjoyed the GAA-AFL at Subi today, a thrilling win against the Irish; then came home to find that New Zealand were knocked out of the RLWC!
What a week it's been hey.:yeah:
Also reckon some of these smaller nations should open up Olympic eligibility to the RL guys and make a play for the gold.
Also, wonder if Tonga got their "one bad game" out of the way in preparation for the semi next week?
I think the bigger issue is whether RL teams will let players take time out from their contracts to do so, considering they would need to sign short-term rugby sevens contracts to do so. Different sport but the New England Patriots let Nate Ebner do that for the US team, however a) the majority of World Series tournaments don't clash with the NFL season, b) the Patriots coach is really high on him, and c) the coach/organisation is well aware of his strong rugby background and love for the game. Once the Olympics were done he was back at pre-season training and ultimately won the Super Bowl.
:offtopic:
I am curious who goes into the Tonga-England game as favourite. Australia should handle Fiji comfortably (nervous laughter).
We're getting there in a VERY roundabout way but we may end up with the Australia-England final I predicted before the tournament after all.
If England play like they did against PNG Tonga will roll them...
Australia will end Fiji's galant run and burst Jarrad Hayne's bubble..
Yeah, they didn't look so great against the Kumuls.
Gotta admit, wouldn't mind this tournament having a third-place play-off somewhere.
