As long as the Force games remain at NIB I don't care what they do.
I think we have the best ground in the country for watching a game.... where else could you be so close to the action?
Hey i like the look of the new Eastern Stand as we move 6 metres closer to the action and above the lower teir so ust cant wait as long as my seat is fixed (( Had to sit in other seats as they cant fix my seat correctly )
From what I've seen of it, the eastern stand is OK for fans (it does have a roof) but doesn't appear to have any facilities for the players, so they'll have to use the same old changing rooms in the eastern stand. Seems like a missed opportunity to me.
The redevelopment plans linked to above show the southern stand being redone, too, but with no roof. However, the northern and western stands don't appear to be being redeveloped at all. That western stand is an appalling waste of space - a decent western stand, similar to the new eastern stand, would not only get the capacity near 30,000 but could include decent corporate and player facilities which would not only help the WARU/Glory finances, but may help with player recruitment/retention.
For the northern stand I'd like to see the shed retained. A standing section at the end of the ground is better for soccer and adds something different for the Force.
One problem with the redevelopment plans, though, is that the concessions stands appear to be behind the stands again. Canberra, Suncorp and AAMI have concession stands where you can still see the ground while you queue up. Why can't we have the same?
This is probably a dumbass question, but is the intention to keep NIB open even after the new Burswood stadium is built, or will NIB be knocked over and the Force and Glory re-located to Burswood along with the AFL clubs??
we stay at NiB
I'm lost as to the latest with new stadium & improvements to NIB. The logical move would be to have some improvements to NIB & have the Force play there. It doesn't need to be a state of the art stadium, some cover over the seated areas, a bar and decent changing rooms for players. We're not talking that much $$ to get it to a respectable level. I've been to some pretty average grounds in the UK where premiership teams play.
we stay at NiB - don't panic!! We moved away from a round ground despite the seventeen trillion dollar study that tried to convince RugbyWA to stay at Subi - we do our own thing - that's how we roll!
The whole stadium debacle makes me want to hurt small animals..
why? GayFL sucks arse who cares what they do lol
The capacity is actually going to be decreased???
The stands aren't great at the moment, but thats not preventing anyone from coming to the games. wouldn't it be smarter to both redo the stands and increase capacity at the same time? When the force start winning next year we're gonna need a bigger stadium. I'm in agreeance that the western stand? should be rebuilt to give us more seats.
Have we ever had a capacity crowd at Nib as it is, I doubt it.
I mean a capacity crowd, not a sold out game, two very different things.
Heard that saying about beggers and choosers before???
