Rugby Championship I assume.
Squad has to be trimmed down to 30 for the RWC.
So is it possible that some not included so far could be included later?? Or is this it? (Subject to injury cover). In other words, is it possible that guys like JOC and Hunt (and Hodgo) could still make it into the RWC squad?
Only 14 Waratahs....I consider that a win for the little guys!
Re Hunt : Maybe the ARU have left him out so if and BBIIIGGGG IF he has to be stood down over all this Drug crap they won"t look so bad and embarassed.. I Think self admission that has come out of late that he did deal and use the drugs should warrent dismissal.
In Earlier reports he claimed he never used the drug which was a lie... Get rid of him now
Re Hunt
Meh, I'm over it, he's overpaid and underperforming, that's as good a reason to drop him as any.
The AFL reaction to images of one of their players appearing to snort lines in a hotel room makes the ARU reaction to KHunt look like a Stalinist purge.
Regardless of whether he can still get into the squad or not, Hodgson will play himself into contention in the NRC, or at the very least, make them look foolish for his omission.
Interesting how Ewen McKenzie is no longer involved with the Wallabies, but Kurtley Beale is.
Having seen how the Tahs performed this year and Chiekas selections to this point I'm not impressed.
Tahs won in the first year and have then totally under performed for a whole season and the coach couldn't or didn't make a damn bit of difference. The Wallabies were only fair to middling last year and I have no reason to think they will be anything else this year.
It's looking like third place in the RC, possibly second and then for the WC I hate to guess.
I hope I'm wrong!
Yes it boggles the mind. McKenzie was probably the only one that came out smelling any good out of that fiasco. The ARU did not back his staff which he interpreted correctly as a vote of no confidence in him and the only honourable thing for him to do was walk away. graham and foley should take note.
Now fans are clamouring for him to return to coaching, whilst most people that breathe air think beale is a grub even though he is still a part of the national setup.
14 Tahs
11 Brumbies
8 Reds (how many wins this year?)
3 Rebels
2 Force
2 Toulon
I think the Rebels are the ones who have been shafted looking at those numbers Sheikh.
Tahs didn't have that many good players and pretty much underperformed the whole season. Brumbies should have gotten more in, but some key injuries at critical times meant that they always looked like they were on the back foot.
Beale hasn't earned his spot in the Wallabies for the past five years and even Folau looked shaky.
Foley, Folau and probably Horne are the three backs I would be happy to have out of the Tahs...Phipps would probably get a guernsey in my team simply through the fact that there aren't any really good 9s running around for us at the moment, but I'd back him up with somebody young and firey (and that only really leaves Stirzaker or Louwrens) I think AAC has stayed around too long and just doesn't cut it at the moment Taquele is all hype and no substance.
