Has Mr. Clyne resigned?
Has Mr. Clyne resigned?
hmm maybe i jumped the gun, but he is going to chair health insurer white coat...
Ha! I wouldn't be surprised if the Board demanded his resignation. Maybe they realise they were rather misled when asked to vote to axe the Western Force? Would love to get my hands on the actual paper the Board were given for that particular item on the agenda.
This is where we need Stookey to elaborate on those uneasy feelings he had about said process
You would think Stookie is the only ARU Board Member getting any sleep at the moment.
Spot on and Clarke came out from the cone of silence at the time to have a dig at Peter and his association to Firepower.
If I am not mistaken after that Bloody awful Sunday evening he was the man that popped over with what he thought was our death warrant, only to see that we had the will to survive and was sent packing with the threat of the writ
ARU operations boss Rob Clarke quits in potential boon for the Western Force’s future
Australian Rugby Union chief operations officer Rob Clarke, who has been at the forefront of the plan to cull the Western Force from Super Rugby, has resigned.
It is understood Clarke told ARU chief executive Bill Pulver of his intention to leave some days ago but only informed staff today.
The move will likely throw more confusion into the ARU’s plan to cut either the Melbourne Rebels or the Force as SANZAAR try to shrink the competition from 18 to 15 teams next season.
Clarke recently came under fire from former Western Force chief executive Peter O’Meara who questioned his independence as he is a former chief executive of both the Rebels and the ACT Brumbies.
The Brumbies were given the all clear for the future.
Clarke and the ARU’s chief financial officer Todd Day presented a business evaluation, described by RugbyWA as flawed, that was being used to cull a side from next year’s competition.
More soon...
Presumably Clarke helped draft the alliance agreement with the Force? So presumably he help to create a document that he subsequently forgot about and failed to notify the ARU about during plans to bone the Force?
Pretty big f*&k up if you ask me.
