Western Force v Canberra Vikings Team Announcement
September 14, 2018
The Western Force have named their team ahead of this Sunday’s clash with the Canberra Vikings at Viking Park in Canberra.
After a strong performance in last weekend’s game, Harry Scoble will continue to start as hooker with Heath Tessmann replacing Logan Ede in reserves. Tessmann will be playing his first Western Force NRC game for this season on Sunday.
Henry Taefu will also return play number 12 with Rodney Iona moving to start from the bench.
Tim Sampson will be playing against his former club which he coached to victory in last year’s NRC semi-finals against the Perth Spirit.
“We had two really tight games against the Spirit last year,” Sampson said.
“I remember the round two clash at Viking Park and after that game, I sat back and thought that was one of the best NRC games that I have ever seen.
“Going back to Viking Park is a great facility and a really nice field so it will be nice to show up there again.”

Western Force coach Tim Sampson to come up against former team Canberra Vikings

Western Force coach Tim Sampson will be back in familiar territory at Canberra’s Viking Park for Sunday’s National Rugby Championship clash with the Vikings.
But he won’t get the warm welcome he received last year when he led the ACT side to a semi-final win over Perth Spirit.
When his 2017 NRC campaign ended with a grand final loss to Queensland Country Sampson took charge of the new look Western Force in World Series Rugby.
Now he is scheming to dig away at the Vikings foundations he laid before the move.
At the top of his plan is combating the set-piece tactics of a side with 12 Super Rugby Brumbies in the starting side and another four in the reserves.
