RugbyWA to Assist Authorities on Further Allegations
Statement from RugbyWA Chairman, Geoff Stooke:
“Further, serious allegations have been made about the mistreatment of quokkas by Emirates Western Force players on Friday night.
RugbyWA was advised of these allegations yesterday and encouraged the complainant to bring them to the attention of the Rottnest Island Authority.
RugbyWA also advised the Rottnest Island Authority of the allegations, and that RugbyWA will assist with any further inquiry.
Since being made aware of these further allegations, RugbyWA has also reactivated its own investigation.
The Misconduct Committee convened earlier this week made a finding based on all the information available to it at the time.
If these further allegations are substantiated, the Committee will be reconvened at the appropriate time and will make the appropriate finding.
The Committee will also consider any other inappropriate behaviour.
Sanctions for serious misconduct include a fine, suspension and termination of contract.”
