Curtain-raiser tomorrow
Under 6's Joondalup Bro's vs Perth Bayswater in the leadup to the game!! :spam:
My Little guy is playing for PB's and his Cousin is playing for JB's they will also be doing the Guard of Honour which i think they are even more excited about than playing!
The next, next, next generation of players on display, dont be surprised if in 12 years you see some of these kids running out in the Black & blue, i know i wont be:D
-
Hope you mean you won't be surprised Zim
It's a shame RWA don't do more to promote the prematch matches.
You sometimes get a brief mention but pretty rarely.
Bit like pre Crusaders at MES, I really enjoyed the chance to watch the next generation having a hit out.

agreed mate .. gone are the days when people really have a fun night out with the family.. its to the Game then the pub afterwards and thats it..
Even back in zim when i was a kid we would have nearly half the crowd already there at the stadium to watch the curtain raiser (usually a high school match up and usually more entertaining than the main event)
-
Were they night games?
The only way I see it changing is if it becomes as attractive to go down early and drink at the game as it is to go to the pub. Plastic beer in plastic cups just isn't going to do it. Maybe at MES, but it will have to be one hell of a lot better (and cheaper) than it has been so far.

Also the SW Rep side is taking on a Country Barbarians side (basically best of the rest) - think they kickoff about 5pm.
-
Now I would definately have gone to see that...if I was going to be down :(
Need more of that kind of level.
It is another problem of a short season with most outside of the domestic season.
To be able to have the match of the round as the prematch as a feature like the old days at Perry Lakes would be the go and would help build the profile of the local comp as well.

That's fantastic Zim! I'd love to watch but other evils prevent me from watching anything :( Good luck to them! I bet being a guard of honour is something they'll remember for a while...

That was a very gorgeous welcoming onto the pitch. Think those little guys had the biggest-smiles-of-the-night award, it was so cute. Which one was your's Zim?
That's such a cute picture Laura!
