Can you keep an eye out
Last night I was burgled. They totally ramsacked my upstairs bedroom, while I was in the house, and took most of my jewelry. (We back onto a lake so they must have been athletes)..:mad: They took two items that I are very special to me.. a gold sovereign ring and a gold sovereign necklace.. I know it's more than a very long shot but if you hear of anyone trying to sell such an item I would be grateful if you could assist. They are NOT items you can buy anywhere in a jewelers. Particularly in Australia. You can only buy sovereigns at the Perth mint who are licensed to sell them..I am truly devastated.. :verysad::verysad::verysad:

Eyes are open and ears are to the ground. Very sorry to here that Jo.

find the nearest pawn shops and have a look (and let them know you're looking)
the other place to notify is those 'we buy gold' kiosks that are arond the place.
If you have photos get copies to give to these stores.

I am so very sorry to hear that Jo. What total bastards!!
Check websites like eBay etc, and visit places like Cash Converters.
May also be worth speaking to the police about where to look - they must know where thieves go to sell their stolen goods.
Good luck xoxo

Photos please? :) I'll keep an eye out on gumtree and Facebook!
There are a few buy/swap/sell things on Facebook, apparently that's where people like to sell stolen goods. I think these days its pretty hard to sell stolen goods to pawn shops, since they are required to take copies of drivers licenses etc.
I had some one "break" into my car the other night :s the silly Dingo out the back didn't even bark! They managed to get away with about 75 cents - Bastards! Just worried they might come back and try the house next time! Hopefully they had a look inside and realized that I had nothing worth stealing. I think I'll wire up the security cameras now!
Hopefully you get some of your stuff back :)

That sucks Jo - get photos on to social media soon as you can like twitter also! Did they take any computers etc? Had rellies managed to trace their ipad through the gps and it sent a message to them when bastards tried to open it. And get a dog.

And a monitored house alarm to go with the dog. When my place was burgled last year, the security company had the police round in minutes.

You know the form you get from the police to list the stuff that was stolen? Make sure you give as good a description as you can and submit it to your nearest police station asap (once you're sure of the full extent of the loss). Make sure you i.d the sovs including the year - if you know it.
2nd-hand dealers are required to report all incoming goods to the police and they use those reports to compare with stolen goods reports to get suspected matches. It's a long shot but might get some success. Better than undetailed report.

Sorry to hear about the scum bags Jo.
It may sound silly but put an ad on gumtree asking for jewelry with old Soverigns and see if they contact you. Some of these tea leaves are a bit short of the grey matter.
See you in 39 days

I will get friends to assist with social media "stuff" I am truly devastated! The other 'pretties' are easily replaced! The MESS is already cleaned up!
Thanks everyone!

Sorry to hear about your bad news Jo. How awful to have been in the house when it was happening! At least you are okay. Hope you get your precious items back :verysad::verysad:
