Who should be given the vice capatains armband for 2010?
Sheps?
Dave Pocock
I'd say him too, but we need someone in the backline I think. Kinda balance it out. A forward and a back as the two captains. Maybe I'm just rambling. But since Sharpie is the forwards guy then out of the backs we have
9- Valentine (I don't think he'll leave)
10- ??
11- Drew/Cummins
12- JOC
13- Cross
14- Cummins/??
15- Sheps
Think I'd have to say Sheps out of all that...
...........waits for Burgs.....................
Plus if Sheps gets the VC then it could be an incentive for him to stay post-2010...
Why is it called an Captains armband? I've never understood why. They don't wear special armbands. Do they?
David Pockock needs to get it, with maybe Cross as well for the back line.
Again this year Cross is making his mark.
In Rugby365.com team of week nine:
13 - Ryan Cross (Western Force):
He is fast becoming the cement of the Force's backline. He is one of the most consistent of the Rugby League converts in Australia.
......... looks around for Burgs........
TEF are you asking a serious question? or are you looking for an argument?
Robyn: it's called a 'captain's armband' because in other sports, namely soccer, the captain does wear an armband so that the referee can spot him out of the melee!
Here's another variation on TEF's question...."Do we need to appoint a Vice Captain?" As long as the officials know who the on-field captain is (assuming the appointed captain has left the field) does it really matter?
...Burgs.......
give it to sharpie and make david pocock the captain!....
bam bam:)
For sure bam bam that way we can bloody him for the Wallabies!! Pocock for Wallabies captain 2011!!
We need a VC in the thick of the play. Sheps at full back doesn't provide this...not to mention that he is never on field because he's always bloody injured so it'd be a useless appointment. I'd be inclined to say Pocock too.
